New Bomag BMP8500 Multi-purpose Compactor

With its new BOMAG BMP 8500 Multi-purpose Compactor, which was launched during NordBau 2009, BOMAG once again shows its design skills with high efficiency and excellent safety. Also the special articulated steering, interference-free radio technology, a double exciter system with directed vibrator plus Intelligent Vibration Control (IVC) and the Easy Service concept all guarantee the highest possible compaction performance.

Difficult earthworks jobs under restricted conditions or on difficult terrain with the danger of overturning is always a challenge to operator and machine on any site, but conditions are mastered by this new BMP 8500 Multi-Purpose Compactor. This new unit from the BOMAG Light Equipment range is particularly suitable for the compaction of cohesive soils in trenches, on backfills, in sewer and pipeline construction, railway and dam construction, on sanitary landfill sites as well as for subbase and foundation work.

The double exciter system with directed vibrator makes the BMP 8500 a reliable compaction specialist unit. The user is able to choose from two different amplitudes and two travel speeds. The IVC (Intelligent Vibration Control) system gives constant compaction and reliability, because the system automatically switches to working speed in vibration mode. The new articulated steering prevents already compacted surfaces from being loosened by steering movement and thus ensures high surface quality. Further outstanding features are the powerful and reliable Kubota engine, the all-around protection hood made of impact proof composite material, the interference-free radio technology for the remote control and the optional drum extension for adaptation to different working widths.

The BMP 8500 also impresses when it comes to service: the fully opening machine hoods provide excellent access to all service points and electronic components.
